Pre-pooing is an excellent practice, but is not essential when using Organic Hair Care Products

Organic Hair Care products are different than regular products, this due to the unique ingredients like exotic extracts, and natural alternatives.  These “clean” ingredients utilize nature to work with the natural structure of your hair.  For this reason the hair feels thicker, stronger, and is ultimately healthier.

Organic Hair Care Products are gentle.  They will not strip your strands when cleansing with shampoo.  Therefore, the pre-poo step is not an essential step to a hair care regiment when using an organic hair care system.  The art of pre-pooing began years ago, and is a consistent staple among Indian women.  Before shampooing their hair they would apply coconut oil to the strands and allow it to sit for a time.   Then they would shampoo.

This is an excellent practice for most women who use traditional shampoos because coconut oil as a pre-poo, prevents hygral fatigue, the process of hair expanding when wet, then contracting when dry.  This process can be damaging to the cuticle and the cortex and leave the hair weak.  Applying the correct pre-poo treatment could help the hair to take up less water during the cleansing process. This practice can be done for any hair type at any time.

However for those ladies with limited time in their schedules that are always seeking faster ways to meet their needs, you could opt to use clean, organic hair care products and simply skip the pre-poo step.Try  creamy cleansers like CURLS Creamy curl cleanser and Curlicious Curls cleansing cream.  These formulas are rich and conditioning while cleansing, which are great options for naturally curly hair care that needs all the moisture it can get.

If you are using regular shampoo, and want a faster, cleaner, and safer method, consider opting for an organic hair care regiment over your existing routine.

Naturally Curly Hair Products Can Help You To Maintain Your Extension Hairstyle

Curly Hair Care takes time and patience.  But do not be fooled, it also takes quality product if you want true quality hair care.  Today many women have decided for different reasons to wear their hair in an extension hair style.  They could do this by completely covering their hair with the extension or adding pieces of hair extension to their hair for fullness and bulk.  Both of these options could be beneficial for your hair or harmful to your hair based on how you care for it.

Extension Hair Care Basics Include:

1.      Cleansing your hair with a naturally curly hair product.

Curls Curlicious Cream Cleanseris the best shampoo for curly hair and can gently cleanse your hair while it is in your extension protective style.  If you have a hard time reaching your scalp for that good cleansing, get a bottle with a plastic nozzle and fill it with 2 parts shampoo, to one part water. Shake it and apply it to your scalp and gently massage it.

1.      Conditioning your hair with a curly hair conditioner.

Immediately following, apply you conditioner in the same manner and allow it to sit on your head with a plastic cap for a minimum of 10 minutes.  Gently massage the conditioner into your hair and scalp and allow your blood to flow to and from your scalp.

2.      Taking the hair down at the appropriatetime.

Curly hair requires you to take your hair down at an important time.  Because your hair is curly it can have the tendency to curl around itself and form knots and matting.  To prevent a knotty mess post extensions, take down your hair gently after 2 months of wear.  If you begin to feel your hair is tangled, spray a leave in conditioner spray like Quenched Curls, Curl Moisturizer to loosen your curls and make your take down easier.

3.      Deep conditioning immediately after take down.

After your take down and detangling session, gently cleanse your hair with a clarifying shampoo like Pure Curls Clarifying Shampoo.  Follow with a covered deep conditioning treatment for at least 30 minutes with heat.

4.      Take a break before your next installation.

Do not be fooled.  Even a good thing can go bad.  Protective styling is sure to help grow out your hair but if you abuse it, you will abuse your hair.  Our hair is fragile and cannot take excessive tugging, pulling and weighing down.  Give your hair a break from the braids and extensions for at least 7 days before reinstalling another extension protective style.

These 5 steps paired with healthy naturally curly hair products will make your hair extension style beneficial to your hair goals.
