Ready for a New Look? Here are 3 ways to Update Your Look for this Fall Season!

Fall is here!  Way to kick it off by updating your hair care routine and style.  The summer season ended with warm breezes, intense sunrays, and cool water.  Summer trends included free flowing curls, well defined locks and frizz free styles.  But change is upon us!  The fall trends include trendy headgear; sleek low do’s and smooth frizz free looks.  Here is how you can incorporate these looks into your new ‘do!

Trendy Headgear

Barrettes, bows and scarves are what’s hot this fall.  Decorate your curls with textured headwear this season starting with a palette of fresh curls as your style foundation.  Using the best products for curly hair, cleanse and condition your hair with CURLS Creamy Curls Cleanser and Coconut Curlada Conditioner to protect your curls against the change of the season.  Style with a curl defining styler like CURLS Gel-les’c for frizz free ringlets to last you all day long.  Top your luscious locks with your choice of head garments to upgrade your style in the last months of the year.

Sleek Low Do’s

Fresh locks this fall include sleek do’s but this time; direct your tendrils to the back of your head rather than the top of your head.  Smooth with products formulated for natural curly hair like CURLS Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Paste along the edges of the hairline and style your hanging curls with loose twists tucked around your ponytail with hairpins.

Smooth Frizz Free Locks

Finally, if you want to wear your hair out and about, opt for a smooth curl out with organic styling aids.  A curl control concoction will give you just the definition you need with a shiny finish.

Utilize one or more of these three fall trends this season to create your best looks of the year! Use them all in one day or alternate these trends for variety in your style regimen. Enjoy!

Styling Curly Hair Is Full of Surprises! Here’s How You Can Take Control of Your Curls!

Don’t let those curls get the best of you.  It’s time to take control of your hair and you CAN with the right styling products for curly hair.   With the right combination of products utilizing tried and true techniques, you can have tame curls or voluminous curls based on the look you want!  Here are some helpful tips to show those curls who’s boss!

1. Be Consistent in your Methods

Having lasting results requires consistent methods of hair care.  Good hair care products are a must, but if you only use them every now and again, you will not maximize their benefits.  Get the most out of your products by using them consistently.  Cleanse your hair at least once a week, follow with a healthy conditioner, use a leave in moisturizer and then you are ready to style.

2. Use Gentle, low pH products

When styling curly hair, use gentle products that will NOT cause a build up which hinders the styling process and can greatly impact your results.  Products that are near the pH balance of your natural hair are better at ensuring the results you are looking for.  CURLS Products for Curly hair are an excellent product brand for caring and styling your hair.

3. Use the smooth or shake method to achieve the best results.

When styling your curls, you have options.  Use the Curls Curl Gel-les’c for voluminous curls.  Apply to your strands after cleansing and conditioning by smoothing along the hair shaft.  Once dry, shake your hair for more and more volume.  For smoother curls, utilize the Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Jelly and smooth along the hair shaft with “prayer hands” for well defined, frizz free curls.  Finish either look with the CURLS Passion Fruit Curl Control Paste on your edges and/or ends for definition and medium hold.  For maximum hold, use the Blueberry Bliss Curl Control Paste.

These techniques along with these high caliber products will have your hair in its best condition and on it’s best behavior!

Choosing the Right Shampoo Could Make or Literally Break Your Curly Hair

What’s a girl to do when there are so many shampoos, cleansers, and now co-washes to choose from in the marketplace?  Well, although it can be difficult to choose, it’s in your BEST interest to make the right choice for your strands.  Here’s how!

Knowing what your hair needs and wants is the first step in making the right product decisions for your hair care routine! The best products for curly hair will include natural elements and extracts from plant based sources to nourish your hair from the inside out.By taking a look at the ingredients in the bottle as well as the product description you can tell a LOT about the quality of the product you are evaluating.   Look to make sure it is formulated for curly hair.  If it is, it should have loads of healthy ingredients that hold in the moisture of your hair and will not compromise its integrity.

The CURLS Creamy Curl Cleanser is a perfect selection for you and can easily be considered the best shampoo for curly hair and includes Carrot seed extract and Horse Chestnut Extract.  Even if you are wavy, curly or kinky, with your particular hair type in mind, this cleanser forms a gentle cream based lather to maintain your hydration while cleansing the hair of excess oil and irritants like toxins and pollutants from the elements.  This cleanser can be used as often as you need it, as it will not strip your hair of its goodness.  Follow all cleansing sessions with a complementary conditioner like the Coconut Curlada Conditioner to bring total balance to your hair.

So remember to look for your cleanser to be formulated for curly hair and check the back of the bottle to see if it includes natural extracts and other nourishing agents to protect your textured tendrils!

High Quality Hair Care Should be Available to All Women and Children, Says CURLS

Why should one demographic of women receive all of the high quality hair care there is to offer?  CURLS Founder and CEO Mahisha Dellinger thinks otherwise.  In fact her CURLS Street Team in Dallas, Texas recently visited a homeless shelter to empower women in children with high quality hair care.

Women with texture can have a tough time taking care for their hair and who doesn’t love having healthy hair.  In order for your hair to be in excellent condition, it takes hair care products to nourish the strands from the inside out.  Curly hair care products like CURLS are perfect for rich moisture, balanced strength and versatile styling options. Families that experience moments of homelessness have a very difficult time keeping up with the workload of hair care, as this is not the first priority.

Therefore the CURLS visit was a real treat.

The many women in attendance learned proper cleansing, moisturizing and styling techniques to accommodate their textured hair.  Followed by a time to relax over lunch, and talk about the benefits and challenges of maintaining hair in our fast paced lifestyles, full of responsibilities.

Each woman took home the product line to accommodate her new basic hair care regimen.  Which includes:

1. Cleanse once a week with CURLS Creamy Cleanser.  The cleanser is an organic-based moisturizing formula to release dirt from your hair without stripping of its natural, needed sebum.

2. Condition immediately with CURLS Coconut Curlada Conditioner.  This can also be used as a mid-week rinse.  The formula serves as an accompaniment to the cleanser.  The perfect partner for balancing moisture levels of the hair.

3. Moisturize daily and after cleansing and conditioning routines with CURLS Lavish Curls Moisturizer.  A leave in styler is purposed to prep the hair appropriately for styling.  The emollients surround the hair strand to protect from damage and breakage.

4. Style with CURLS Crème Brule Whipped Cream for curl styling.  This all-purpose styler works for fine to thick hair types and leaves hair defined and soft.

5. Finish with CURLS Goddess Curl Gel.  This botanical formula holds the hair in place for firm curl styling and curl sets.

With this basic regimen you, like these ladies can maintain your curlicious locks with minimal effort.

Take your hair care to higher levels with CURLS organic hair care for the entire family.

When Moisturizing Your Children’s Hair Try the LOC Method for Optimal Hair Care

Children live very active lives.  Like us they rise early in the morning and prepare for their day. Some of them go to before school programs, and then endure a full “work day” of school followed by homework time or after school care activities and sports.  With a day like that, it’s no wonder they come home with dry hair even after you carefully moisturized their strands that morning.  Your child needs something that will last them the full day.  Now this doesn’t guarantee that their hairstyle will last, but it does mean their hydration level will remain intact.

The L.O.C Method is one way to keep your child’s hair curly hair fully moisturized.

L- Leave in Conditioner

After Cleansing and Conditioning your child’s curly hair, apply a leave in conditioner for kids like CURLS Curly Q Moist Curls-Curl Moisturizer/Detangler to your child’s strands and finger comb throughout or use a comb if you wish.  This process is very important as the leave in conditioner will remain on the hair.  Leave in Conditioners are light but have just th
e right amount for a daily dose of moisture.

O- Oil

The next step is to apply an oil. The Mimosa Curly Q Elixir is the perfect oil for children’s hair.  Apply this oil after applying the leave in conditioner.  The oil in this process acts as a sealer.  It has moisturizing elements also but it will seal the moisture into the hair before any styling is done to the hair.

C- Cream

The final step is applying your cream stylers.  You may also use a gel if that is what is best for your child’s hair.  This is the last and final step because once your child’s hair has been properly moisturized it is prepared to behave during the styling process.

Keep a close eye on your child’s curly hair care patterns to see what is best for them.  This method can actually be done every day or as needed.  Have fun with it!
